Each summer, The 24 Hour Company partners with the New School for Drama to bring together the best actors, directors, playwrights and producers 25 and under for an intensive professional experience. From August 5-8, 2016, the next group will come together for a series of intensive workshops, panel discussions, and finally a production of The 24 Hour Plays.
Alumni of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals include playwrights Bekah Brunstetter (Be a Good Little Widow, Oohrah!, “Switched at Birth,” The Secret), Eric DuFault (The Year of the Rooster, AMC’s “Preacher”), Laura Jacqmin (January Joiner, “Grace and Frankie”); director James Dacre (Olivier Award for world premiere of Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop); actors Brandon Scott (“Gray’s Anatomy”), Zoe Perry (The Other Place on Broadway), Coral Peña (upcoming “24” reboot), Chelsea Spack (“Gotham”), Pico Alexander (Punk Rock) and many more!
Previous Nationals have featured discussions with Kevin Spacey, Claire Danes, Rachel Dratch, Aasif Mandvi, Warren Leight, Thomas Kail, Leigh Silverman, Joel Marsh Garland, Annie Baker, Karen Kohlhaas, Lucy Thurber, Kristoffer Diaz, Jason Zinoman, Jonathan Silverstein, Austin Pendleton, Lou Moreno and many other stage and screen professionals.
